New Building Information Session | February 23rd
Following worship, and a time for a coffee break, we will offer a New Building Information session on Sunday, February 23rd.
For the last two years we have been exploring possibilities that might address the significant issues of the Arlen A. Baillie building. A set of plans and renderings of a possible replacement have been on display in Haddix Hall for all to review. We now also have informational packets available in Haddix Hall. This meeting will provide an opportunity for everyone to hear more information and ask questions about the building proposal. The meeting will be recorded and available later along with other resources.
Time and time again we have been counseled by builders and architects that replacement would be the best use of our resources. Are we the generation that can accomplish it? That is the big question.
We will have a church meeting on April 27th at which the proposal to replace the Arlen A. Baillie Building will be considered.
Given the nature of this decision, we hope you will make it a priority to be there. This is not the sort of thing that should be decided by a handful of people. Moreover, whatever is decided, our decision will impact the church for decades to come, even generations. This is no small matter.
To prepare us all for that meeting we will be offering information and opportunities throughout the season of Lent on the process that has led us to this point. We hope these offerings will enable all to attend the meeting with a clear sense of what is being proposed, why, and what it would mean for us to take this on. Please proactively look for the information we will be sharing. Please read what is shared and take advantage of the opportunities to gather and ask questions.
We thank you for your prayerful attentiveness to this question and your participation in the conversation and decision-making process ahead.
