Thanksgiving (Bread) Sunday | November 24
Members and friends of All Souls Church are invited to bring a loaf of bread to the worship service on Thanksgiving Sunday, November 24th.
Upon entering the Meetinghouse, please place your bread in the baskets located at the Chancel (front of the Meetinghouse). Following the service, each household will be invited to take a loaf of bread as you leave the church to share at your table on Thanksgiving Day. Thus, when sitting down for Thanksgiving dinner, a visible and sustaining reminder of the community of faith will be on the table. Bake bread if you can, or simply buy a loaf to bring with you; either way you’ll carry away the offering of another.
The All Souls bread bakers will be making 100 plus loaves of bread at the workshop on Nov. 21. A great opportunity to purchase a loaf of bread for Bread Sunday at the Bazaar's Pantry Table on November 23!
Freely give and freely receive, help multiply the sense of sharing and blessing for this wonderful holiday.
The Chancel will be arranged with harvest decorations by Kay Blanchard and Lee Margaret Jack in memory of Anne Hanson Bamford and Sally Myers, longtime All Souls members who decorated the Chancel for Thanksgiving Sunday for many years. After fifteen plus years of doing this Thanksgiving arrangement on Bread Sunday, Kay and Lee are "retiring." Our sincere thanks to you both for this gift to the members and friends of All Souls on Thanksgiving Sunday. If anyone in our congregation is inclined to continue this tradition, please speak to Darcel Bryant in the Church Office.
